Treatments lesson2 minutes

Why treatments are not extras.

You are at the basin, warm and half asleep, and someone offers you a treatment for a little more. It feels like the moment the bill goes up, so you say no, and you have said no for years.

What you might have been told

That a treatment is a nice-to-have. A few minutes of conditioner at the end, an easy way to add to the total, something you can skip and never really miss.

Here’s what’s actually happening

A treatment is skincare for your hair. Think of how you look after your face. You cleanse it, you feed it, you seal it, you protect it with SPF, and you do not think of any of those as extras. Your hair works the same way. A treatment is the step that clears what has settled on the surface, or feeds moisture back in, or seals the tone and shine so it lasts. It is not a top-up on the price. It is the part of the appointment that decides whether the result holds once you leave.

It’s no wonder you didn’t know

Most women are only ever offered the treatment as a yes-or-no at the basin, never shown what it does or why their hair was asking for it. Offered like that, of course it reads as an upsell. Nobody sat with you and named which one your hair actually needed. It is no wonder it felt like an extra. That was never yours to work out alone. Not at the basin, in the thirty seconds you were given.

What this means for you

A treatment is not chosen blind and it is not sold to you in passing. It is prescribed. At your consultation your stylist reads what your hair is doing and names the one step that answers it, the way a facialist reads your skin before choosing what to put on it. So you never have to decide half asleep at the basin again. You arrive already knowing what your hair needs and why, and the treatment does the quiet work that makes the whole result last.
